FASTAG New Rules 2024: New rule will be implemented on Fastag related services from 1st August. Now vehicle registration number has to be uploaded in FASTAG number within 90 days after purchase of vehicle. If the number is not updated within the specified time, it will be in the hot list. After that an additional 30 days will be given, but if the vehicle number is not updated even then, FASTAG will be blacklisted.

New Fastag Rules: Let’s know what are the new rules of Fastag from August 1.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) issued detailed guidelines regarding FASTAG in June. August 1 has been fixed for the Fastag service provider companies to start the KYC process. Companies now have time from August 1 to October 31 to fulfill all the conditions. As per the new conditions, issuance of new Fastag, re-issuance of Fastag, security deposit, minimum recharge is also decided by NPCI.
FASTAG New Rules 2024: Fastag service provider companies have also issued special guidelines in this regard. In such a situation, the problem increases for all those who buy a new vehicle or have an old FASTAG. In addition to this, people using Fastagni should also be careful now. Because the rules for blacklisting Fastagni will also be effective from August 1. However, before that companies have to fulfill all the conditions set for them by NPCI.
These regulations will come into effect from August 1.
- Companies should replace five-year-old Fastagni on priority basis. Fastagni after three years will have to undergo KYC again.
- Vehicle registration number and chassis number should also be linked to FASTag.
- After buying a new vehicle, its number has to be updated within 90 days.
- Vehicle database must be verified by Fastag service provider companies.
- While doing KYC clear photos of front and side of the vehicle should be uploaded.
- Fastag is mandatory to link to mobile number. Services like App, WhatsApp, Portal should be made available for KYC verification process.
Companies will be required to complete KYC norms by 31 October 2024.

- Closing Fastag – Rs 100.
- Tag Management – Rs. 25/quarter.
- Negative Balance – Rs. 25/quarterly.
Close if there is no transaction with FASTAG for three months.
On the other hand, some FASTAG companies have also added a requirement that FASTAG should be active. This requires one transaction in three months. If there is no transaction then it will be inactive. For this one has to go to the portal to activate it.
