What Are Output Devices ? More information on the above output devices

Introduction to Output Device :An output device is a hardware device that is used to send data collection from a computer to another device . We have many output devices, but the following are the most important used output devices:

  • To monitor
  • Printer
  • The speaker

  • To monitor
  • A monitor is the most important output device of a computer because it is a visual output device. A computer is incomplete without it. A monitor is a basic computer device for visual display of all types of information or data in any form. The monitor is made to display information in symbolic and graphically forms. It shows all the data information on its screen as a soft copy . Anyone can view files, photos, videos, text, graphics and tables in real time through the monitor.Output Devices

Following are the types of monitor:
Color Monitor: As its name suggests, it is a monitor that shown every color on its screen. This is because a monitor and television screen has produces three colors (red, green and blue), and the colors we see have different combinations and power of these three primary colors. Each pixel on a computer screen has three small connecting dots called phosphors which are surrounded by a black mask. Examples are monitor, television, tablet etc.

Monochrome Monitor: A monochrome monitor is a type of computer monitor that displays computer text and images in only two different colors, while a color monitor can display text and images in multiple colors, they are black and white. It was very common in the early days of computing from the 1960s to the 1980s, before color monitors were widely available on the market.

TFT Monitor: It means Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Monitor. A TFT (Thin Film Transistor) display screen is a liquid crystal display (LCD) commonly found in laptops and portable computers that has one transistor for each pixel, ie each tiny element that controls the display’s backlight.

Printer

A printers is output device that collects text and the device accepts graphic data from a computer and transfers the information to paper. Printers can be differentiated based on size, speed, complexity and cost.

Following are the types of printers:

Inkjet Printer: An inkjet printer is a computer a circumferential that prints hard copies by spraying ink on paper. A typical inkjet printer can produce a copy with a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Some inkjet printers can print a full color copy at 600 dpi or higher

Dot Matrix Printer: A dot matrix printer can print multiple sheets simultaneously by printing directly on a white-faced sheet and then printing on colored carbon paper.

The speaker

These are the audio output devices. Computer speakers are hardware output devices that connects to a computer to reproduce sound. The signals are used to propagate sound from your computer’s speakers are produced by your computer’s sound card.

Examples are:

  • High drain – UB3.
  • Bose-Companion 2 Computer Speaker System
  • Logitech- Multimedia Speaker System Z313.
  • Logitech-Speaker S120.
  • Amazon Basics- U213.

Reminder

It is a output device in a computer hardware which receives data information from the computer and then converts that data into another format. This format can be audio, video, text or a hard copy such as a printed document.

It is a hardware device that is used to deliver the output from the calculations performed within the CPU to other connected devices or other users on the same network.

An output device is a device that helps us process data from a computer, usually in the form of visual, audio and xerox.

  • There are three types of monitors – color, monochrome, TFT.
  • Printer converts data from softcopy to hardcopy
  • There are three types of printers – inkjet, dot matrix, laser.
